On 17 February 2016 OTN was in Klatovy where it joined two other EU projects (SDI4APPs and FOODIE) for a workshop dedicated to Open Data and its use in public administration. OTN solution – Open Transport Map – was presented to the audience by Pavel Hájek, a GIS specialist from the Pilsen-based University of West Bohemia. In his presentation Pavel spoke about traffic volumes and gave some examples of their applications in policymaking.
On 22-23 February 2016 OTN was in Italy for a workshop organised as part of Danube Reference Data and Services Infrastructure initiative. The event was held at the Joint Research Centre in Ispra and attracted a large number of participants from data, GIS and related fields. Štěpán Kafka from HSRS presented the Geo-DCAT application profile and its implementation in the OpenTransportNet data hub.

On 3 February 2016 OTN partners convened in Ghent, Belgium, for a two-day project meeting to take stock of recent progress and agree on the actions points for the coming weeks. Day one began with presentations by technical teams who briefed the consortium on the current status of OTN platform and the apps that have been designed for the four pilot sites: Antwerp, Birmingham, Issy-les-Moulineaux and Liberec.
After months of discussions OTN signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SDI4APPs, FOODIE and ECIM – three EU-funded projects that use data to advance innovation and promote decision-making process, among other things.
